1. Who we are

Agricomm Savings and Credit Alliance (CLG) Limited (ASCA) is a non-profit company limited by guarantee registered in Kenya, of 12th Floor, TRV Centre, 3rd Parklands Avenue, Westlands, P.O. Box 53060-00200, Nairobi. For the purposes of the Data Protection Act, 2019, ASCA is the data controller for personal data processed through this website.

ASCA processes personal data in accordance with Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019 and the guidance of the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC).

2. Data we collect

We collect personal data only where there is a clear purpose:

• Contact forms – name, email, phone (optional), and your message
• Newsletter – email address, with your consent
• Membership applications – society registration details and contact persons

We do not collect personal data you have not chosen to give us, and we do not use the website to profile visitors.

3. How and why we use data

We process personal data to respond to enquiries, administer events and membership, and send communications you have consented to receive. We do not sell personal data.

Our lawful bases under section 30 of the Data Protection Act, 2019 are: your consent (newsletter, optional cookies); performance of a contract or membership arrangement (membership applications); our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving this website; and compliance with legal obligations where the law requires processing.

4. Sharing and disclosure

We share personal data only with service providers who help us operate this website and our communications (for example hosting and email delivery), under appropriate safeguards, or where the law requires disclosure.

Our current service providers are our website hosting provider and our email delivery service. Every provider is required to protect personal data and to process it only on our instructions. We do not transfer personal data outside arrangements that meet the requirements of the Data Protection Act, 2019.

5. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

As a guide: general enquiries are kept for twelve (12) months after resolution, and newsletter details until you unsubscribe.

6. Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (SSL), and administrative access is limited to authorised personnel.

7. Your rights under the Data Protection Act, 2019

As a data subject in Kenya you have the right to:

• Be informed about how your data is used
• Access personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict processing
• Withdraw consent at any time

You may also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) – odpc.go.ke.
